Sustainable Development

The SGI promotes sustainable living through various educational efforts. It has organized events and exhibitions around the world, including “Seeds of Hope” which was a joint initiative between the SGI and the Earth Charter International in support of the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (2005–14).

This exhibition was produced by SGI jointly with the Asian Disaster Reduction and Response Network in response to the first World Humanitarian Summit (WHS), held in Istanbul, Turkey in 2016. It highlights individual and community level initiatives and calls on viewers to reaffirm their global commitment to humanity and work together toward humanistic solutions to the challenges of today, starting in the place where they find themselves now.
