In Sustainable Development by SGI OUNA

The High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development, convened under the auspices of the Economic and Social Council was held between 10-17 July 2017. National voluntary reviews were presented to the HLPF by 43 countries on six of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) being reviewed. As a contribution to the discussions, on 12 July,  SGI co-organized a side event titled “Can Non-formal Education Be Measured?: A Case Study on the Use of Exhibitions in School Settings” together with the Centre for Environment Education (CEE) and Earth Charter International (ECI). The event was held at the Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka to the UN and introduced initial findings from a study that CEE and SGI had conducted to measure the impact of non-formal education (NFE) by showing the Seeds of Hope exhibition at schools in India. Mapting, the mobile app developed by SGI and ECI, was presented as another NFE tool.
