Over eight thousand participants from around the world representing some two hundred indigenous, spiritual, and religious traditions gathered in Toronto for the 2018 Parliament of the World’s Religions (PWR), held 1-7 November, under the theme of “The Promise of Inclusion, the Power of Love: Pursuing Global Understanding, Reconciliation, and Change.” Over 500 programs were featured across six major tracks.
SGI participated in the launch of the PWR’s Climate Commitments Project, which evolved out of the PWR’s understanding of the role climate commitments play for people of faith. A poster-viewing was a part of the launch where SGI together with other organizations presented a poster on their climate actions. SGI Canada organized a breakout session and set up a booth where the panels from the exhibition “Transforming Lives: The Power of Human Rights Education” were displayed.
