On 1 February in Turin, Italy, Senzatomica, an Italian campaign for the abolition of nuclear weapons, held a panel discussion entitled “Educare alla Pace e al Disarmo – incontro con ICAN premio Nobel per la Pace 2017” (Peace and Disarmament education – conference with ICAN, Nobel Peace Laureate 2017). The panel discussion took place after a public guided tour of SGI’s exhibition “From a Culture of Violence to a Culture of Peace: Toward a World Free From Nuclear Weapons.”

Hayley Ramsay-Jones of SGI joined the panel with other speakers including Daniel Högsta, Network Coordinator of International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), Francesco Vignarca, Italian Disarmament Network, Massimo Artini, vice chair of the Defense Committee of the Italian Parliament, Daniele Santi, Secretary General of Senzatomica and moderated by journalist Alberto Simoni.

The event was attended by the Mayor of Turin, Dott.ssa Chiara Appendino and other government officials from the region, the Deans of Turin and Turin Polytechnic Universities as well as approximately 250 people.
